It was difficult working with this photographer because he was very combative and argumentative. I ultimately put up with it because I
needed headshots for my kids quickly. He argued immediately when I asked him via text msg to wear a mask when he got to my home for the photoshoot (even though on Thumbtack it says that this is or social distancing done). We went back and forth through about 20 msgs with him arguing about the necessity AND TALKING ABOUT GOD! Ultimately, he didn't wear one. He sent me a text of his Vaccination card and I sent a picture of my own. My concern was for my two yng kids who AREN'T vaccinated b/c only 11yrs and 8yrs. BUT, I allowed him to come without a mask b/c of the card he showed. But that wasn't shown until 17 messages of complaining and talking about God and how he doesn't save folks, if it's your time to go it's your time to go! Are you kidding me! I had LOTS of red flags but still let him come. The 2nd argument was when he submitted to me the FINISHED product in which the kids photographed weren't touched up AT ALL and you could see a piece of his equipment behind the shoulder of 1 child and there was bright light splotches behind another child and the children (Black) appeared darker in some pictures over other pictures but NONE of the photos represented their correct skintone. I kindly asked him to correct these various flaws and in response he spased out AGAIN and said that at some point you had to just ACCEPT what is given to you and he has 33 years experience! I had only said something about these flaws 1 time. Yet he spoke like it had been 10 times. He did ultimately after alot of complaining and text msgs On this THUMBTACK SITE, RETOUCH the photos and give them to me the following day. The new pictures were better than the first batch. There was still light blotches behind the child's face that he said he couldn't remove, and the equipment is still visible but LESS obvious b/c it blends in with the child's hair. He offered 2 to 3 pic options with their skin complexion lightened for me to basically PICK which one I thought was better. I actually provided him with pictures taken from my cellphone of the 2 kids so that he could use it as a guide to match their complexion that day prior. All in all, it was a terrible experience and I shouldn't have to give pictures as a guide because you didn't take good shots in the first place! It was a horrible experience and I wouldn't recommend him nor would I use him again. It's not fun arguing with a total stranger, about wearing a mask, ALL VIA TEXT MESSAGE that you've never met but is supposed to come into your house in a matter of hours. His sample picture that he originally gave me showing how GREAT the final image would look using 1 image of 1 child wasn't followed AT ALL in the actual pictures presented to me as DONE. This request from me for the pictures to be edited to that same quality is when the arguing began. I will attach the sample pic first and the pics that were given to me as COMPLETE next. You will note that the hair wasn't touched up like in the first image, the bright light on the side of the face, the black equipment behind the boys left shoulder on the side of his head, and the skintone inconsistencies. This photographer had so many stars and a high ranking that I thought he was a safe choice. I was wrong.
