They are so nice and helpful! Hillbilly Barter &Trading gave me advice on how to try and fix the damage myself. If it doesn’t work, I will definitely send them my furniture to refinish because they are are trustworthy and skilled.

This was my first experience with Thumbtack and I was very pleased with Sylvain Marie, who responded very quickly to my request for someone to refinish an antique side table. I e-mailed some pictures of the piece as he requested and he soon responded with an estimate of the time required to repair and refinish a very battered table. He came exactly when he said he would to pick up the piece and returned it a few days earlier than I had told him I needed it. He stuck to his original estimate, but told me that if the job took less time he would charge accordingly. The table is now stunning and I am thrilled with his work and plan to hire him again for other refinishing of my antique furniture. I was especially impressed by his knowledge of wood types and methods of repair and also by the way he handled the old furniture with real gentleness and respect!

Sylvain Marie is focused, neat, professional, unobtrusive, thorough. He delivers exactly what he promises. Refinishing an antique piece of furniture in someone's home comes with built in disadvantages and compromises, yet I couldn't be more pleased with the work that he did on maltreated black lacquer dresser. He restored it back to a state it deserves and one I am proud to own

I wanted to have my beloved coffee table refinished, though it looked ratty and hopeless. Then along came Simon. He inspired confidence from the moment we first spoke, and his initial visit more than confirmed it. He is a pro-- knowledgeable, honest, fully cognizant of quality. His assessment of other furniture I have in my apartment--some very old, solid pieces, which could also use some sprucing up--was spot on.
He took my sad-looking coffee table and just delivered it to me with only a two-plus week turnaround. It's gorgeous. His attention to detail and craftsmanship is spectacular, and he is a pleasure to deal with. I'd never use anyone else.
