On one of my earlier weddings back in 2015, a bride said something that really stuck with me and shaped my approach to weddings. While she was gushing over her photos she received, she thanked me for giving them “heirlooms” to show to her future grandkids. I was floored. It put into perspective how important it is to be present for every single moment, no matter how big or small it may be. Every wedding I shoot I can’t help but think “wow, this is probably the only time all of these people will be in the same place at the same time ever again.” And I don’t take that lightly. On top of making sure I get those ~fire~ portraits of you two, every passing moment between your lover, family, and friends will be cherished as well.

Darien was amazing for shooting our wedding! We went to different locations around NYC and she was totally involved the entire time. I felt so connected to her and when the photos came back...OMG beautiful! She had great suggestions, and luckily, we embraced all that she said. The end result is loving my wedding photos! I remember all of the emotions I had on my wedding day by looking at each photo. I chose her from afar through Thumbtack, and it all went so perfectly. I would definitely hire her again for more of our life moments. She was incredible!! Don't look any further than Darien...unless you actually want boring, cookie cutter, corny wedding photos. Chances are you don't...so just hire Darien. You'll love her. My dog Mya (ring bearer) even loved her.

Darien did a great job shooting our 90 person wedding back in November 2017. She is easy going yet professional, responds quickly to emails/texts and produces great work. She has a great eye for candids and edits her photos beautifully (no over processing or instagram-esque filters). We were also really impressed with how well she shot in our dim, candle lit venue.
I would highly recommend Darien, especially to anyone looking for more natural vs. staged photos.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
One of my initial priorities when in touch with a new client is to get to know them as much as possible. What's their story, how did they meet their partner, and learning about their personalities as a whole. It's so important to me to learn all of the small details, because it helps me capture their love more authentically.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have received an associates degree in photography from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City,and started working alongside established wedding photographers back in 2011 to get hands on experience with weddings.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I picked up a camera once and was never able to put it down.
