I have had private chef’s at colleagues and friend’s events, but never have I had such a miraculous culinary experience as Chef Via Melissa prepared. It was Father’s Day 2021 and I need something different to surprise my very deserving husband and family. Nothing is more important than family so 15 of us got together and since my husband is the family chef, I needed a gourmet experience worthy of his caliber. Chef Melissa definitely fit the bill and exceeded expectations. She and her sous chef, Brian, showed up on-time and ready to get started. They were well organized and cleaned as they whipped up our feasts. Everything was made from scratch and appetizers set the stage: chicken meatballs with chipotle aoli, spinach feta muffins, and crab cakes with a dill sauce. Between appetizers and dinner, they even took a moment to interact with my guests and get to know us better. They blended in so well. Made a family affair so much more comfortable. The main course was dazzling: filet mignon, grilled shrimp, smashed roasted potatoes, asparagus, sautéed cod, and a summer succotash. Everything came out perfect, even the steaks were grilled to order. Chef Melissa was orderly and delightful. Her demeanor is pleasant and professional. Her food is tasteful and she has a wide span of talent that can make your event better than you can imagine. For a truly enriching meal that continues to provide a great after taste, you cannot go wrong with Via’s Kitchen by Chef Via Melissa!!👍🏾

I hired Melissa for my 40th birthday party (5 couples) in September and I am still thinking about how perfect it was! From the first interaction via e-mail to our goodbye that evening, Melissa was a pro! The food was amazing, her service and attention to detail was wonderful and she (and her sous chef/assistant) helped make the event (a milestone birthday in quarantine) unforgettable. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing varies depending of the type, size and scale of an event. Group Cooking Classes $150/person Cocktail Style Catering packages start at $75/person + local sales tax & service. Personal Chef and or catering packages start at $100/person (brunch / lunch) or $115/person (dinner) + local sales tax & service.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to understand the needs of my clients from the beginning. I highly encourage a free consultation call to understand your vision and make it come to life. All of my offerings are completely customizable for a unique culinary experience. We emphasize a VIP experience for all customers. For all events, my staff and I arrive ahead of the event to set up, stage & do any necessary food preparations for food freshness. At the conclusion of each event, we breakdown your space leaving it just as we found it so you do not have to lift a finger.
