I recently had the pleasure of working with James who provided exceptional electrical service at my home. From start to finish, the experience was positive and hassle-free. First and foremost, James was incredibly professional throughout the entire process. He arrived on time for the initial consultation and was thorough in his assessment of the electrical work I needed done. He was also great at explaining the process to me in a way that was easy to understand. Once the work began, James worked efficiently and with great attention to detail. They took the time to ensure that all of the wiring was done correctly and safely. James also found some old wiring work that was a potential fire hazard and corrected the issues the same day. Finally, the price was fair and reasonable. I appreciated that James was transparent about the cost of the work upfront and that there were no surprises at the end. I felt that the quality of the work was well worth the price. Overall, I had a very positive experience working with James and Powerhouse Electric. He was professional, provided great quality work, and offered a fair price. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of electrical services for their home.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I attended SUNY Delhi for a two year program in 2002 for Electrical Construction and Instrumentation. The second year I took PLC and motor controls as well as Photovoltaic classes. I graduated with an Associate in Applied Science. Shortly after graduation I worked in the field with numerous electrical contractors across NYC, Nassau and Suffolk counties in NY. Soon after I was accepted into Local Union 3 apprenticeship program which is a 5 1/2 year program. After completion of the apprenticeship I graduated from Empire State College with another 2 year degree in Associate in Applied Science in labor studies.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I am a third generation electrician in my family. My grandfather was an electrician , as well as my Uncle and now me. I’m so proud to carry the tradition and name throughout my career. I started by watching and helping my Uncle and his partner who showed me from an early age of 6 or 7 about the trade. I was fascinated with the trade and how my Uncle got it to work and the rest was history.
