FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a a 90-minute consultation to new clients at the rate of $150 which can be credited to further services if engaged.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to begin with a call or Zoom to get to know the client and their goals for their garden. Form there, we set up a 90-minute consultation which can be in-person or via Zoom on a device or tablet, with the client leading me through their garden as we talk about possibilities and advice. This allows me to customize a recommendation and create a client brief, which often leads to the next step, one of two options: 1) a complete garden design + Installation or 2) a maintenance visit to give the garden a good makeover. If the client is strictly looking for maintenance services only, that can be set up as a one-time visit or on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly contract. Longer contracts offer a 20% discount on maintenance rates.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 20 years experience working in the Tri-state area as gardener and designer. I worked and trained at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and received my certification in horticulture from BBG in 2006. I am a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD), New York State Nursery and Landscape Association, Inc., Metro Hort Group, and the American Horticultural Society. I hold an M.A. from New York University and continue studies in Landscape Design at Cornell.
