I have been taking piano lessons with Ruth for a little over 3 months. She is a great teacher, with tons of knowledge and patience. I initially felt a little silly for wanting to learn piano at almost 30 years old, but she made me feel so comfortable. She is a great teacher and If there is a concept you are stuck on, she finds different ways to explain it based on your learning style. In all honestly, I had tried to teach myself piano via YouTube and could not get very far. However, I’ve only been seeing Ruth for 3 months and I’m very proud of how far I’ve come, and surprised with how much I now enjoy my time at the piano. She is also a very enjoyable person to spend your time with and talk to. Couldn’t recommend her more!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I start beginners with a 30 minute lesson. I feel that allows for enough time to keep their interest-level high without overwhelming them. Following, I schedule lessons for the same day/time once a week. My degree in music education places me at a greater advantage than those without formal training.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each week we work on increasingly more difficult concepts as it relates to the music. If I feel a student has some difficulty, repetition is key to playing the piano.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science degree in music education and a concentration piano.
