Hi I'm Donovan, founder and photographer of Carpe Diem Design Studio. Most people have heard the famous phrase, Carpe Diem and know it's meaning to be Seize the Day. Yet many people don't take the advice. Neither did I, until now. However I have realized that living in the moment can mean that I miss capturing it. The catch 22 of that is when you are capturing it, you take away from living in the moment. We are a photography and videography company that is pushing the boundaries of conventional principles of design and photography. We blend storytelling and creativity to create unique images for our clients. When you book with Carpe Diem, know that you can effectively seize the day! You can enjoy your wedding, birthday, and other events without worrying about missing moments made in history. You'll have a variety of reasonably priced, quality pictures to choose from. My team and I are easy to talk to and offer down to earth, professional customer service.

Donovan Blake was so amazing and professional. I was in a major jam trying to find a photographer. My daughter told me about Thumbtack to look for professional services. I checked out Carpe Diem Design Studio website it was beautiful; but my concern was will my daughter's wedding photos come out just at nice? I requested a phone call from Carpe Diem Design Studio and spoke with Donovan Blake, he was very professional, courteous and asked me a lot of questions to see what I was looking for and he answered all of my nerve questions as well. He came out to the event on time and worked his magic! Our family and friends loved how professional he was and he did not have a problem with people asking him to take photos. He sent me a SEEK PREVIEW, the photos are beautiful, I shared them with some of our family members and they were blown away. Creative, professional, accommodating and so nice. I am so happy I chose to work with Carpe Diem Design Studio as my photographer and videographer for my wedding. When I first met Donovan he told me he drove 2 hours for our meeting. He came prepared and on time and we did a walk through of our wedding venue as he took preparatory shots. Then is when I felt confident on choosing the right photographer. He was very professional. On our wedding day the Carpe Diem Design Studio arrived on time going back and forth from bridesmaid to groomsman getting ready locations in order to accommodate the requested shots while working with a short period of time. They nailed it. When we had our main photoshoot period which lasted about 2.5 hours, Donovan and his team worked hard in the 90 degree heat (and crazy bridal party) to get the perfect shots. They know the creative angles, and how to work with lighting anywhere. I requested 2 photos the next day just so I can post to my Instagram and Carpe Diem Design studio delivered the most incredible two photos. I haven’t received my photos or videos just yet but I am very much looking forward to them!

The pricing is basic packages with just edited digital images for custom coverage. We offer bigger packages with albums and engagement sessions starting at $2400. No travel fees unless considered a destination wedding. Those packages start at $3500.

Ask to see portfolios on previous and recent work. Determine if the style is consistent with your goals.
