- NO ONLINES except *music theory* - *Guitar* *Music Theory* and *Ear Training* lessons at my home studio at Jersey City (5 min to Liberty State Park Lightrail) or I travel to your place for in home lessons I’m Roger, a NYC based guitarist, Berklee graduate. Most of the time I lead my project or play jazz gigs in local venues in NYC area. I've taught students all ages and am experienced working with younger kids. My lessons structure around: -Growing musicianship (help you study guitar independently, learning songs and harmony, establishing sense of rhythm) -Improving instrumental skills (technique, fingerboard knowledge) -Practice with you in a improvisational context (on the guitar or piano)

I am taking jazz guitar lesson with Roger. He is very patient and professional in teaching. In his lessons, I not only get more familiar with guitar playing, fretboard expansion but also learn music theory, including different scales, modes, and chords. For improvisation, Roger can demonstrate various sounds with his guitar by applying different scales or techniques and he explain the content in a very clear way. I think he really helps me improve a lot not only in guitar playing but also the insights to different genres of music. Thus, I have more clear ideas about what I am playing and what sounds I am chasing for.

I'm a 9-5 working professional who loves to play guitar. I self taught myself for couple years. Soon I find myself playing the same things on the fingerboard and got tired of it. Roger's lesson helped me so much in terms of really making music out of the chords and scales I've learned. We listen to and analyze music in class. He demonstrates practical practice exercises to help me really hear what to play. I highly recommend his lessons if you need good advice to have a breakthrough on guitar.

I am taking music theory lesson with Roger, and he is a very professional and patient! The lesson plans are very detailed and the lesson materials are clear and very practical. He is also a awesome jazz guitar player. He demonstrates the sounds and playing examples on guitar making the theory on book so much easier to be understood. He is very nice and easy to work with.
