Robert K. says, "We had an emergency situation in our rental property with a nasty water leak coming through the ceiling. We don't really have a plumber (ours retired) so I went to the Thumbtack site. Saw Ben's profile and read his reviews...After looking at several others, I decided to contact Ben....within 1 hour he texted me...I texted him back and said I'd like to speak with him...We decided to meet next day at my property so he could evaluate the situation (I had very little idea where the leak was coming from) and give me a fair price to fix it. He texted me the next morning to confirm our appointment and to tell me he was on his way...He arrived exactly on time, we looked at the problem and he determined what needed to be done...He actually gave me 3 options for the repair based on what he would/could do and the different materials and ways he would/could fix it...I chose to use his 3rd option (repairing any part that needed repair now & down the road and using the highest quality materials (solid copper pipes etc.) To me, even though it was more expensive, it made sense because I don't want problems in the future. Ben came exactly as scheduled the next day, worked about 5 hours and then showed and explained everything he had done and what work was involved...Beautiful job, cleaned everything perfectly and he also did a couple of extras that I didn't expect! He recaulked around the bathtub completely and he also put a new valve and hose on the toilet which he saw had a small leak...both at NO additional cost to me! I don't think I have ever had such a pleasant, easy experience working with any contractor before and for the work he did, certainly very reasonable priced...I will definitely hire Ben again for various projects I have in the 2 older homes I own...I'm glad he does remodeling and carpentry too!
