We had SUCH a positive experience with Jim's Carpentry, specifically Zach. They came out quickly to discuss a quote and were able to promptly start the permitting process. Zach was realistic about timing, very very responsive and timely, and extremely engaging and approachable. He gave us a lot of information throughout the various steps of the process! We appreciated his flexibility and communication with our evolving needs. Our deck looks amazing and we could not be happier with the final product and the company we chose to work with! Jim and his team are pros when it comes to carpentry. He is friendly and so is his crew !! They built a custom wall unit with shelving and cabinetry on either side. They also created a custom mantle and installed an electric fireplace. Not only was it designed and created to perfection….but the entire project was done in three days! Jim offers great value and was responsive every time I had a question. I highly recommend Jim and would definitely hire him again . I guarantee that you’ll be delighted when you work with Jim and experience his design expertise, friendly attitude, and professionalism.

I have used Thumbtacks for many projects at my house. All of them have gone well but none of them went as well as my deck extension project working with Jim Amara at Jim’s Carpentry! The crew that Jim brought to the project were straight pros! They came when they said they would, they responded immediately to my messages, they worked until the deck was done over a couple of days. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I really need to see the project in order to give an exact price. My rate ranges from $20 to $40 per hour depending on the complexity of the work.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet with them to see what they are looking to do. Then I give them additional ideas if requested. I alway want to have a clear process of what will be the steps I will follow to completing the work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 30 years experience in construction and have my construction supervisor license.
