- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A personal consult to find out more about the customer and the dog. For instance, the behavior or issues they might be experiencing would help me suggest what class to put them in or if a private session would be more suitable.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? I owned and operated a successful business for over thirty years. Everything from doing the books to managing employees. As a hairdresser I learned that you must hear your clients to serve their needs. For ten years I worked in the Doggi Daycare part of the business. That experience was extremely valuable for experience in learning to observe the language of dogs. I’ve worked for and under many experienced and successful dog trainers. I’ve been active in Dog Scouts of America for over 12 years. DSA believes in teaching the public how to train in a humane way. I’m currently taking the test by the AKC for teaching the CGC class and testing for it. That will also qualify me to be able to test for Tricks. I have been working toward getting certification from the AKC and APDT.
