Introduction
**Currently accepting new students for in-person lessons with masks and online lessons via Skype/Facetime/Zoom** My name is Jessica and I am classically trained professional violinist and violist with over 20 years of playing experience, currently based in Saint Louis, Missouri. I hold a BA in Music Performance from Shenandoah University, a Graduate Certificate in Contemporary Music from University of Maryland Baltimore County and am completing my Masters of Music in Music Education from Boston University School of Music. Music has been passion of mine since a very young age, so it was inevitable that it would end up being my career. Naturally, a love for teaching the wonders of music followed suit! I've been teaching violin and viola professionally for over 12 years now am always encouraging my students to go above and beyond. My experience includes teaching private and group lessons at my private studio, students' homes, as well as at various music schools, summer camps and festivals. Advanced students have been awarded spots in All-State competitions, summer festivals and Talent Scholarships for college as well as admission at highly competitive Conservatories. I am also a registered Suzuki Violin/Viola teacher and have attended many teachers workshops in order to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to work with any and all types of students, including those with learning disabilities, such as ADD and FAS. While I am a registered Suzuki violin teacher, I do not teach solely out of a certain method or "by the book"; I choose and mold every lesson depending on specific, strengths, weaknesses, etc. If you are a more advanced, serious player, more intensive lessons and repertoire will follow suit. I am comfortable teaching all ages and levels up to advanced. Use of games make learning the violin fun and accessible for young children. Older and more advanced students receive a more technical, intensive and advanced approach. Coaching and weekly help on school assigned materials (orchestra/string class music and homework) Classical, Jazz, Gypsy and Fiddle styles are all introduced and studied to give students a rounded technique. Music theory (reading and understanding music) is incorporated in lessons. Repertoire is diverse and exciting. Various approaches for the visual or aural learner. Guaranteed to keep you or your child engaged and interested! They say, "Choose a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life!" When it comes to teaching, truer words have never been spoken! I love working with each and every one of my students and their parents as they work towards their music goals. Whether it's acing school concert music, an audition, or striving to become the best musician they can be, I am truly grateful I am able to take part in my students' journeys and help them reach their goals.

My daughter has taken lessons with Ms Jessica for over a year now. She is her second private lesson teacher after we decided to change due to disappointment with the lack of progress with her previous teacher. We love Ms Jessica's upbeat personality and her teaching style. She knows how to keep my daughter motivated and gives clear directions on what to work on every week. She is also very accessible for questions I may have during the week. We are very happy with my daughter's progress and plan on continuing lessons with Ms Jessica for many years to come. I would highly recommend.

I took beginner Viola lessons with Jessica and had a blast! She was extremely patient with me and explained things in a way a non-musician can understand!
