Introduction

I’m a photographer and art director in Minneapolis and I create to move. My work not only captures movement and gesture but also aims to move both others and myself to see things in a different way. My work focuses primarily on building compassion for human experience through conceptual portraiture and still life work. Marla is a great photographer. She was able to get some incredible pics of our senior. She was very flexible regarding place and time. We opted for her studio this time. Last time we went to the Arboretum for our oldest 2 years ago. She did such an incredible job then, it was a no-brainer to hire her for our current senior pics.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually start by figuring out exactly what the client wants to say with their story or brand. From there, we decide together if we'll shoot in my studio in Saint Paul or on location, the best time of day for lighting, wardrobe etc. Once we shoot, I'll send a proofs gallery to view all of the images and after the final photos are chosen by the client, it takes me about 1-2 weeks to retouch.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended Hallmark Institute of Photography in Massachusetts and graduated in 2012. I've been freelancing ever since and went full time self-employed in summer 2018! :)
What types of customers have you worked with?
I love working in the commercial industry, working with catalogs, advertising, magazines, portraits, and private companies for headshot and website work. I love incorporating my own personal style to create something completely unique for my clients.
