Dan finished a job in my 100+ year old house. Another plasterer had started, bailed, and left me with a sloppy, half done wall. Dan worked quickly and efficiently to fix and finish the job. He also repainted the walls, trim and ceiling. When he was done there was not a speck of dust or drip of paint. And his price was quite reasonable The room looks fantastic now and I will definitely hire Kress again for any painting or plastering!

United Wall Systems repaired two plaster walls for us and they did an excellent job. They showed up when they said they would and they set up the repair areas so that the house could still be functional over the course of three days while they worked. After the job, they cleaned everything up and the wall repairs look fantastic.

Victor and Claudiu were hired to demo my plaster ceiling and drywall it, skimcoat the walls, and paint the walls, trim/baseboards, and ceiling in my office.
I had a mixed experience working with them, which I've broken down into a pro/con list. I would not hire them again or recommend them.
Pros:
-Prompt with their communication
-Once I decided to hire them, they were available immediately and finished the job in a couple of days
-My walls and ceiling are nice and smooth and the room generally looks good

-Similar price to other companies
Cons:
-Lacked professionalism. The closet in this room has a curtain rather than a door, but they started the demo without putting any plastic over it. I had to stop them and ask them to cover it in plastic so all of my belongings in it would not be covered in dust and debris. I also found paint on the edge of my main floor bathroom sink, which made me guess that they cleaned their paint brushes there rather than my utility sink.
-Not as detail-oriented as I would expect. As you can see in some of the pictures, the edge lines are messy and not as neat as I would expect from a professional painter. I did message them twice about this, and they made it sound like they would return to fix it, but they never returned and after one or two more messages, I never heard anything else from them. They also got paint on my outlets.
-They assumed that this room would only need one coat of paint because the Behr paint they bought "guaranteed" only one coat was needed. They didn't return to check if the first coat of paint was sufficient, so I had to message them the following day with pictures to show the many places the first coat was too thin. They did return the next day to do a second coat. I have painted plenty of rooms and have found that one coat, especially when going from light to dark or vice versa, is usually not sufficient, no matter what the paint company claims.
I do not want to feel like I need to micromanage the team I hire to paint a room, and that's how I ended up feeling once they started the work.
