Introduction
I'm a professional guitarist and instructor who has been turning new learners into confident guitar players for over a decade. I teach music first — scales and drills second — so that you’re actually playing songs as quickly as possible. My approach to teaching is totally adaptable for all ages and skill levels, goal-oriented, and judgement free. Improvement guaranteed after the first lesson!

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We’ll start by talking about your existing knowledge of music, your musical tastes, and goals with the instrument. I might ask if you have a song in particular that you’d like to someday learn on the guitar (if not, I can help you choose). From there, I’ll create a personalized lesson plan that is tailored to your needs, using that song as our “north star”. Once we get there, and you master the song, the sky is the limit.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I’ve worked with four year-olds and 70 year-olds. I have turned absolute beginners into confident guitar players, and I’ve coached touring professionals on their lead guitar playing. No matter the age or musical skill — I’ll take your playing to the next level!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask yourself, or your student, if there is an important goal in mind, such as preparation for music school or a performance coming up. Does the teacher have the experience and tools to help you prepare? Does the student have time between lessons to practice? The answers to these questions will be enough to tell you if a guitar teacher is the right fit for your student.
