FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a better portion of my life in practical hands-on work experience working under highly skilled craftsmen and electricians. These in combination with the educational requirements for electrical licensure, extra electrical courses in fire alarm and low voltage, test preparation courses for CSL licensing that includes everything from insulation/energy efficiency to deck beam construction.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Growing up with a general contractor as my father, I excelled in the trade through the summers growing up, at home year round in the workshop, and eventually full time work doing everything from siding and windows to custom tile showers. My constant hunger for knowledge and skills eventually brought me to working in the electrical field doing everything from wiring whole houses, remodels, and troubleshooting. Eventually having obtained the time, experience, and education for licensing, it made sense to combine these efforts.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask questions! There's a lot you can tell about knowledge and experience just by asking questions. The other thing is seeing photos of completed work. As a contractor, I ask a lot of questions when looking at work because I want to make sure we're on the same page so not only is the price accurate, but you're happy and there's no communication breakdown.
