We hired Brian Peters for my daughter‘s doctoral graduation ceremony because he promised he was a professional and expert photographer. Unfortunately, Mr. Peters was not only very late but also unprepared. Our agreed-upon meeting time was 12:00 PM, one hour before the commencement. However, Mr. Peters informed us after 12:15 PM that he needed to go to Walmart to buy an SD card. He didn’t return until after 12:45 PM, which meant we couldn‘t meet in person before the ceremony started. Mr. Peters showed up late with his girlfriend and another young man who required constant care but never notified us they would be there. Throughout the ceremony, Mr. Peters held hands with his girlfriend and stayed seated with her and her son, who has special needs, far from where we were. Despite many opportunities, he made no effort to move closer or find better angles. We saw other photographers moving around to get better shots, but Mr. Peters remained static the whole time. Despite claiming to be professional, his actions said otherwise. He didn’t move around to capture key moments and rushed through the post-ceremony photo session. His girlfriend‘s constant attention to her son further interrupted the session, making it even less professional. Mr. Peters rushed us through the photo session, wanting to finish quickly, which added unnecessary pressure and lowered the quality of the photos. Mr. Peters also failed to deliver the professionally retouched photos he promised. The photos were of poor quality, lacking clarity and attention to detail. This forced us to hire another photographer, causing extra stress and expense. However the missed moment of the hooding ceremony cannot be compensated or rectified. This was a significant moment in our life, and it was missed due to his lack of professionalism and preparation. Moreover, Mr. Peters tried to shift the blame onto my daughter’s appearance, calling it ”uneditable and unretouchable“. These remarks were baseless, disrespectful, and offensive. As a professional photographer, he should conduct himself with tact and courtesy, regardless of his personal opinions. Mr. Peters‘ attempt to deflect accountability by criticizing my daughter’s appearance is unprofessional and highlights his lack of integrity. It‘s disappointing to see such behavior from someone supposed to capture significant milestones. I caution anyone looking for photography services to avoid Brian Peters. Seek out photographers who prioritize respect, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.
