Mike is a very professional and skilled worker. He came to my house to turn my unfinished basement into a finished basement. The drywall looks outstanding, and I couldn't be happier. Initially gave me one price to paint my condo over message (I gave all details about square footage and condition of walls), which was a good estimate and within my budget. He then came back to me via message and said he will reduce the price since it’s a large project which made me want to work with him. Based on his word, I had him over my condo, he took over an hour to take measurements of the entire condo which simply did not make sense, why it would take that long and kept telling me that condo is in excellent condition and should not be much to prep the walls. But came back and provided me an exorbitant estimate 4x times more than what he had originally provided. Such a waste of my time. Further adding to my review after seeing Michael's response: I have no vested interest in lying about him or anything. He quoted me 60cents per sq ft to paint (because of which I had him come out and look at the condo, set up false expectations) and measurements came at 2500sq ft, which makes it $1500, but when he sent me the estimate, he quoted $3900, which is more than double the initial quote. He then told me on the day of taking the measurement that a portion of the ceiling and trim is not bad and touch-ups are good enough, but quoted me $3100, which makes no sense. Regarding timing - appointment was at 4p which he came on time, but left a few after 5p. Jeff and Stephanie, my friends, were also at the condo and pointed out a couple of times - is he still taking measurements? All three of us started to get tired waiting for him to complete the measurements. Jeff and Steph are witness to the entire episode.

I never gave you an exact number for the quote wat so ever before I came to measure out the house so I don’t know what you mean by my initial quote to compare to from the prices I gave you for the walls, trim, and ceiling. If anything I said I charge .80 cents per sq. Ft. for the walls alone. My prices also differ with the material I paint (trim or ceiling) for surface area which mean the entirety of the wall for every wall. No one charges 80 cents for painting walls for just the sq. Ft. of a room. That is unheard of. But to my understanding you just assumed I charge per sq ft literally when in fact I charge per sq. Ft. Of the surface area. So not just the width of the walls but also the length.

I am willing to beat anyone’s price to get you the best quality for my companies reputation. That being said I charge per sq foot based on what I am working with/ I always chop the price at the end to give my business reasonably priced reputation

Ask what needs to be done and see if they are available for a 1 on 1 to see the project in person.
