What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Video production can really have a wide range of pricing. There are a lot of factors that affect the price: How many cameras? Audio? Lighting? Length of the edited video(s)? I consult with the customer to figure out their needs and hopefully figure out a solution within their budget.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First step would be to consult with them to figure out their production needs and to offer suggestions. After I have an idea of their needs, I can give an accurate quote.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a Bachelors of Arts degree from Western Illinois University where I majored in broadcasting. I've worked various jobs in video production since 2003, including an ABC news affiliate, Comcast Cable, and most recently as an independent contractor with my own company, Dude Oyster Productions.
