I bring the insight of a coach, the resources of a teacher and the diligence of a true professional. I work hard inside and outside of sessions (no charge for texting, emailing, docs etc) to help my clients become successful. A good coach brings three things to their clients: Strategy/Tools, Accountability and Encouragement. I try to major in all three areas.
A little about me: Northwestern grad, Division I athlete, coach for 10 years, former educator, married for 32 years, raised two kids, author.
I have worked with over 900 clients in the last ten years, including well over 250 on Thumbtack, where I have been a Top Pro for four years. I think my clients would describe me as encouraging, insightful, professional, with a pretty good sense of humor. I like to have fun with people as they move forward in their lives.
Here is what I do in the different realms of Life Coaching:
Positive Habits - I help people identify a 3 Step process to build sustainable, positive habits. The 3Rs begin with Reminders, we all need triggers to get us started. The second R is Routine, this is the execution of the habit and the third R is Reward. This is what we get after we complete the habit. I use resources like The Power of Habit and Atomic Habits to help my clients.
Stress Management Coaching - I help people slow down, identify their top priorities and sort through the noise and clutter in their lives. We identify people pleasing behaviors, perfectionism and energy vampires to help recover time and lower stress. I also use an assessment called the Saboteur Assessment, which is great for identifying potential stressors.
Time Management/Organization Coaching - I am a certified Covey trainer and I use David Allen's Getting Things Done materials with my clients. I help my clients create sustainable systems to manage their time (whether electronic or paper) and focus on their MITs (most important things) each day.
Relationship Coaching - I work with both individuals and couple to help them relate at a higher level. Good relationships start with self knowledge and the ability to know yourself and communicate your needs. Once that is established, our expectations can be converted to requests and then requests become agreements to move relationships forward.
Career Coaching - I use a 4 Step system (see photo of fl;yer), where I help people identify their direction, create a compelling message, crank their network and nail their interview. My clients have had good success finding jobs, mainly because they are well prepared.
I have all type of clients. If you look at my website, you will notice that I highlight my work with young men (40% of my clients), but I work my both men and women and people of all ages.
I love watching people transform and become the people they were meant to be. My clients experience more joy, more freedom, more purpose and often make more money after they work with me.
