FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I first talk to a client it's usually via email or phone. I get a sense of their overall needs and how I can help them with that.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a photographer since 2007. I have attended several workshops and trainings. I am also the Director of Photography for The Haven Network, a perinatal hospice in Rockford. We offer photography as one of our services for families who have received a terminal diagnosis of their unborn or newly born baby. Between Katherine Pittman Photography and The Haven Network, I am constantly working and polishing my skills.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do your research. While a photographer that offers a low price and a disc of your images can sound attractive, decide what your overall goal is. Do you want beautiful portraits to hang on your wall? If you received the digital images, would you be disciplined enough to get them printed and backed up? Is your photographer insured in case you fall down their studio stairs or if your child pulls over a piece of expensive equipment and breaks it? Does your photographer back up your images? Does your photographer know photography software programs that can aid in touch ups? If you have an infant or small children, is your photographer vaccinated against whooping cough? Do they have a safe record? Do you have friends that have used their services? And this is very important, does your style match your photographers style? A photographer may offer low prices, but if their style doesn't match up to yours, you will never be happy with your images.
