- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For Lessons: The first month's tuition is due at the first lesson; tuition then forward is collected the last week of the previous month. For example, February's tuition would be collected the last week of January. For Weddings: Prices may vary depending on event needs or additional song requests - most basic package $500 for prelude/processional/ceremony/recessional music.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We discuss what kind of music the student is interested in learning and then begin working towards that goal through skill and confidence building.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a BA in Music Education with K-12 Teacher Certification. I also have received teacher certification in Suzuki Talent Education from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. Additionally I have studied and incorporated kinesthetic teachings based on the Alexander Technique into my lessons. I have been teaching private lessons to students since 2006, beginning with my work at The Conservatory of Central Illinois (Suzuki School of Champaign), continuing on with Weaver’s Music, and JC's Guitars and Lessons, and finally I began my private studio in 2015. In 2021 I was the conductor for Heartland voice and currently direct 3 children’s choirs. I have experience working with special needs students.
