FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Custom Pricing: Each project is unique, so prices vary based on the scope, duration, and specific requirements (e.g., drone footage, event coverage, or post-production editing). Hourly/Flat Rates: Some services are billed hourly, such as event filming, while others may have flat rates for completed projects like promotional videos or real estate tours. Package Deals: Discounts are often available for bundled services, like filming, editing, and social media content creation, or for booking multiple sessions at once. Travel Fees: Depending on the location of the shoot, travel fees may be added for projects outside of the Chicago area. Additional Costs: There may be additional fees for rush editing, special equipment rentals, or additional crew members if needed for larger productions. Payment Terms: A deposit is typically required to secure the booking, with the remaining balance due upon project completion. Payment plans can sometimes be arranged for bigger projects.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initial Consultation: I schedule a meeting (in person or virtual) to discuss the customer’s vision, goals, and specific needs for the video project. This is an opportunity to understand their brand, target audience, and key messages. Proposal Development: Based on our conversation, I create a detailed proposal outlining the project scope, timeline, budget, and deliverables. This proposal includes any creative ideas I have that align with their vision. Pre-Production Planning: Once the proposal is approved, I move into pre-production, where we plan logistics such as locations, scheduling, and equipment needs. This phase also includes storyboarding or creating a shot list to ensure we capture everything necessary. Shooting the Video: On the shoot day, I ensure everything runs smoothly, directing as needed and capturing high-quality footage. Communication is key during this phase to ensure the customer's vision is accurately realized. Post-Production: After filming, I move into the editing phase, where I compile the footage, add any necessary graphics, sound, and effects, and refine the video to align with the customer’s vision. Review and Revisions: I share the first draft of the video with the customer for feedback. We discuss any revisions or adjustments they’d like to make. Final Delivery: Once the customer approves the final version, I deliver the completed video in the agreed formats. I also provide any necessary support regarding video distribution or promotion. Follow-Up: After the project is complete, I follow up to ensure they are satisfied with the final product and discuss any future projects or collaborations.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended the Illinois Institute of Art Chicago, where I completed a four-year program that provided me with a strong foundation in filmmaking and videography. Following my education, I gained five years of hands-on experience working in the Chicago film industry. This combination of formal education and practical experience has equipped me with the skills necessary to excel in various aspects of video production.
