ABOUT ME I pride myself on the results of my 27 Chicagoland students, and the smiles on everyone’s faces! I’m a Boston Conservatory-trained percussionist with 3 advanced degrees in classical music performance. I’ve performed all over the country and in Germany—and was at one point a finalist in an audition for the Milwaukee Symphony. I am also a college-trained intermediate pianist, with extensive knowledge of music theory and sight-reading I am especially good with children. I make it my personal responsibility that students both enjoy themselves, and show signs of good progress. Adding to my experience with children, I have 3 years experience teaching children's swim lessons, and I'm also an assistant teacher in Chicago Public High Schools. Nick has been a fantastic piano tutor for my son. He is patient, knowledgeable, and does a great job adapting lessons to my son’s skill level. His teaching style keeps my son engaged while helping him build a solid foundation in both technique and music theory. Nick is also very encouraging, which has made learning enjoyable. Nick has been giving our kids weekly lessons (one on piano, one on drums) for a couple months now. I was impressed at how quickly Nick built rapport and got them playing. Our kids are 5 and 7, and Nick's lessons are very age appropriate in terms of balance of skill building and keeping it light. Our kids look forward to lessons and haven't complained about practicing--which is a huge win!

Nick is both an exceptional musician and exceptional with kids -- a rare combination. I wanted hands-on, personalized instruction for my child, but also top-notch professional training from an classically trained musician with orchestral experience. My daughter (age 8) started piano lessons with Nick six months and can't wait for her next lesson! He is patient, kind, and helpful. In her words, Nick gives me "easy ways to remember things."
