FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initial Consultation/Discovery Objective: Understand the customer’s needs, goals, and vision for the project. Activities: A meeting (in-person or virtual) to gather details about their requirements. Ask key questions to clarify the project scope, timeline, budget, and any special requests. Identify any potential challenges or constraints. 2. Proposal/Quote Objective: Provide a clear plan, timeline, and pricing for the project. Activities: Based on the consultation, prepare and send a proposal outlining the scope of work, deliverables, costs, and expected timelines. Include any terms and conditions, such as payment schedules, revisions, and other key project details. 3. Agreement and Upfront Deposit Objective: Finalize the terms and secure a commitment to move forward. Activities: Once the customer approves the proposal, send a formal contract outlining the details. Request an upfront deposit (usually a percentage of the total project cost), as per the agreement. This ensures commitment from both sides and secures project scheduling. 4. Project Kickoff Objective: Begin the work with clear expectations and communication. Activities: Set up a kickoff meeting to go over the project details, key milestones, and deliverables. Define communication channels (email, phone, project management tools, etc.) and frequency of updates. Assign roles and responsibilities if there’s a team involved on your side. 5. Project Execution Objective: Carry out the work according to the agreed-upon plan. Activities: Work on the project, providing regular updates or check-ins to keep the customer informed. Manage any challenges or changes as they arise, ensuring alignment with the original scope or adjusting as needed. 6. Review and Revisions Objective: Ensure the deliverables meet the customer’s expectations. Activities: Once key milestones or deliverables are completed, share them with the customer for review. Address any feedback or revisions as per the agreed process (number of revisions, timing, etc.). 7. Project Completion and Handover Objective: Finalize the project and ensure the customer is satisfied. Activities: Deliver the final product or service, ensuring all agreed-upon deliverables are met. Conduct a final review meeting to confirm everything is to the customer’s satisfaction. Provide any necessary documentation, training, or support if needed. 8. Final Payment Objective: Receive payment upon project completion. Activities: Once the customer is satisfied, request the final payment as outlined in the contract. Confirm that all invoices are paid and any post-project support terms are understood. 9. Ongoing Support/Follow-up Objective: Ensure long-term satisfaction and open doors for future collaboration. Activities: Offer ongoing support or maintenance if needed (depending on the type of project). Follow up to ensure everything is running smoothly and ask for feedback to improve future projects. Maintain a relationship for potential future work or referrals.
