Honestly amazed by what happened. I am a mother of 4 kids and today has been pretty all over the place. We hired Neptune Plumbing to replace our shower valve and everything seemed fine until they estimated around $1,000 for the the replaced valve. I think he saw how desperate we were to get it done. We agreed to this price just to get it done. He opened up the wall, saw everything including the valve, and then decided to remove our shower valve WITHOUT talking to us about any changes. After he removed our shower valve, he tells us that he will need $400 more. There was nothing stopping him from talking to us before he removed our shower valve. He saw our new valve and saw our old valve. He literally removed our ability to turn our water on and then asks for more money even though he saw everything in front of him. This is extortion. I wanted to get our lawyer involved but my husband told me that the guy seems young, inexperienced, and tired. I find this funny because the guy literally said "But your water is off" after my husband said no to the extra $400. I really hope this is a new hire, seemed strange to have this kind of behavior. My husband did say that the guy left some of his things around the house, he might have been tired. Still... this is silly.

Hey Karina good evening, Pricing for replacing the valve was given upon arrival before starting any work so I’m sorry our initial appearance turned your day to not fine. The proposal which was given was to swap out the existing valve with the valve your husband provided. The valve your husband provided was twice as short as the valve the was behind the wall. In order to make that assessment the valve needed to be removed. Once both valves could be compared it was evident that twice as much piping would need to be worked on as everything would need to be reconfigured including the risers hence the change in price. I know your husband kept saying he knows how to do this and knows how to put in a valve but obviously could not understand the additional work needed. Not desperate not inexperienced. Once I showed the pricing to your husband I was more then willing to work with you considering the water is off however after your husband said no I asked what he was thinking to pay and he told me he is not going to negotiate. For my time had only charged $189 Which from there I had started cleaning everything up and packing my things. Also while I was doing (cleaning) that I did mention the water still being off as that’s also still part of my responsibility to let you know. Don’t understand how that is a sales pitch. And yes I did almost forget my ladder, I guess I was shocked at how unwilling your husband was to tell me what works for him and listen to what I have to say considering the situation. Moe went above and beyond to take care of our plumbing needs. His creative solutions took our job down from over $1000 to $250! Another plumber quoted us $2400! I was about to delete the entire Thumbtack app because of the bad luck we’d had with other plumbers (we went through multiple- they’d not show up or try to overcharge us), I thought maybe this app was no good. We were so lucky to find a gem with Moe. He did a lot of research to help us with our issue and offered a variety of solutions. He explained the pros and cons of each option as well as the pricing with receipts. He was professional, showed up on time, and did great work. I was sure to get a card from him because he will be our plumber for any future plumbing needs!

He was responsive and available immediately. He unfroze the frozen pipe behind the drywall but he didn’t offer to wrap it in a heater. He charges a service fee of $49 if not hired and is expensive. He didn’t seal the drywall after he was done but asked me for a spaceheater till I get the drywall fixed. No referrals either.
