Wanted lessons on how to play guitar better, got those lessons coupled with a general grounding in basic music theory that is tailored to guitar, rather than the traditional method that is historically based off of piano lessons

Amazing teacher with great insight to guitar. Knowledgeable in just about any genre and able to tailor the lesson to each individual. I started out being self taught, now I can't imagine taking lessons from anybody else.

Phil's a knowledgeable, experienced pro who actually has a PLAN for learning guitar. Fun guy to talk with, too. Got tools in lesson one that have the potential to level up my playing.

Been attempting to play guitar for a long time now and finally decided to get serious. Steve has been a game changer for me even in the first month of lessons. He has a vast knowledge of the instrument and is excited to share. Highly recommend if you are looking for lessons. I look forward to continuing to work with him and really learn this instrument.

Doug was helpful in setting my account up for the guitarlessons. Thus
far, I've had one trial lesson and 2 hr-long sessions with Francesco. He is
easy to understand, offers good tips/suggestions, and covers material I'm
interested in learning (ie songs I want to learn). I am hopeful for the
future and I believe these classes will help me become a better guitarist.

Came back to guitar after several year hiatus and started taking lessons with Keith. He's very personable (but not a pushover) and seems to easily know enough to further instruct someone who's already had a few years of lessons. I was worried that I would waste a lot of time and money going over material I already know, but Keith has been good about figuring out where my weaknesses are and giving me exercises that I can see immediate results from practicing.

Eric has been an excellent teacher so far! He is very responsive with communication and quickly responds to texts and emails. He sends me a PDF and video via text after every lesson of what we went over. This is super helpful for referencing between lessons. Eric explains things in a way that is easy to understand and adjusts to my pace of learning. I am surprised by how much Iโve already improved in just over a month! He covers everything from technique to music theory (even music history!), and I have learned one new song every week so far. The only downside is that all of our lessons have been over zoom due to the pandemic. As a new guitar player, it would be helpful to have some hands on observation / instruction regarding my technique. That being said, Eric has done an excellent job accommodating to the limitations of a video lesson.

Prior to hiring Keith I had zero experience playing any instrument, so I was a bit apprehensive. Keith's professionalism and patience immediately put me at ease. Within 4 lessons, we've covered the elements of music, the parts of the guitar, how to tune it, how to handle it, how to play several major and minor chords, the chromatic scale, and musical notations and symbols. Each lesson builds on the last. Though I am still very much in the beginning of my journey in learning to play, I'm very thankful I found Keith and I'm very satisfied with his teaching methods.

Keith has been an excellent teacher so far! I have been studying guitar with him for about 2 months, and I intend to continue my lessons. (For context, I'm somewhat new to the guitar, but I've been playing classical music most of my life, so we were able to move quickly through basics such as staff notation, major and minor scales, and intervals.)
What I like most about Keith is that he builds up your knowledge in a logical way, particularly from a theory perspective. My previous teachers have just asked me what songs I want to learn, and then they've taught me how to play those songs. Which might be fine if you're not really looking to understand the music you're playing. By contrast, Keith's method of instruction is focused on understanding the music, with the eventual goal of being creative with the guitar. His philosophy is that proficiency on an instrument is strongly tied to improvisational ability, and building that ability is his goal with his students.
He ties theoretical concepts to the instrument itself - things like scale patterns and chord shapes are taught within the context of theory. I'm learning to play a couple of songs, but we're also analyzing those songs to learn why they sound how they sound and why they make sense (even when, theoretically, it seems like they shouldn't). Each lesson, I'll learn a little bit more about the structure and progression of the songs.
Keith is incredibly knowledgeable about music and can talk extensively about music from seemingly any era, from classical all the way up through contemporary popular music. His style of teaching is fairly laid-back (which I like), but there is an implicit expectation that you should be practicing at home and internalizing what he's teaching you (which I also like). Not to mention, he's surprisingly affordable, which is a huge plus. I'd recommend Keith to anyone interested in learning guitar the right way.
