Did a fantastic job installing my motorized blackout shade. It was a very large shade and they did a phenomenal job making it work behind my existing blinds! Would highly recommend!

I hired Randolph to installshades in my store.
Upon his arrival he told my husband that the job will cost a bit more because the shades had to be screwed in metal and not wood. At that point my husband agreed to the additional fee.
He then broke a drillbit while installing the shades and decided to go up on the price because he said that the hardware was broken, which was a drill bit.
He increase the price to $400, which is more than what he initially told my husband when he arrived on the job. I negotiated it down to $350. I have crown molding around the top of my wall so the shades couldn’t go flush against the wall, but I was never informed of it until all the shades were up and I noticed that none of the blinds fully cover the window.
When I called Randolph back in the express that I was not happy with the job he proceed to tell me that he came in on the back in. When actually he came in at the point we needed, which was to only in stall the shades. When he arrived he should have accessed the job and notice that after putting the first shade up that it didn’t cover the window and that the crown molding was in the way, but he never mentioned it until I said something to him.
The purpose for shades was to cover the windows. I was told by Randolph that the crown molding was in the way that’s why the blinds couldn’t go all the way over.
But I was in the store the whole time he was doing the job and he never informed me of that the blinds couldn’t go all the way over the window. He said he didn’t realize it until the end of the job, which is incorrect because the very first blind he installed beside the crown molding doesn’t cover the window, so if you’re putting up blinds you would notice that.
He was hired to do a job that he under performed in and wants me to pay him the same amount to fix the job that he was paid to do correct the first time. I offered to pay him $150 to correct the job he did incorrectly the first time, but he said he needed another $350 to do it correctly. Since he is a contractor cutting the crown molding should not have been a problem. Instead he choose to half step and install the shade beside the crown molding that he could have told me needed to be cut. When a contractor arrives at a job they are to access what needs to be done before doing the job and if it can’t be done properly inform the client.
I can’t even remove the paper from my store windows because you can see right in from the blinds he installed.
I am writing this review because I gave him an opportunity to correct his wrong and he didn’t do that instead he wanted more money in the full amount I paid him the first time.
