FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I typically use lump sum pricing. I try to be competitive when I do full residential custom design plans I charge 3000-5500 when it's a new-built residential project. If it is a consultation for kitchen or bath design renovations I do a weekly retainer which varies depending on the job.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
typically I like to have a phone conversation first then I'll have a sit-down consultation at their home and get a familiarization with what it is they want then we can start the process from there. we can figure out what they really want to do, we can come up with design options, design fees, I do like to have constant communication as a client needs. I like to make myself available either by phone or text and in person so that the client is always clear on what's going on on their project
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's degree in architecture, a bachelor's degree in art history and criticism. I've been practicing for over 18 years. I've either worked in architectural firms, for myself or, in the academic environment as an educator in design, including being a contributing writer to the only dictionary of African American Architects publish by Routledge in 2002.
