Hello. My name is Arwen Freer, and I am an ordained minister who would love to be the officiant for your wedding, vow renewal or commitment ceremony. I'm one of only 2 officiants in Jacksonville to win The Best of The Knot in 2016, and I won WeddingWire's Couple's Choice Award for 2017. I have a Christian background, but I am ordained through an interfaith ministry and work with couples from every faith, including the non-religious. There is never any discrimination, regardless of your faith, orientation, or life choices. I am based in Jacksonville, FL, but willing to travel. I can perform weddings in FL, GA, and several other states. I absolutely love every minute of working with couples to create their perfect ceremony. Reina Elizabeth Ray 5 star Arwen Officiated our wedding last month and she was perfect she made everything the way I wanted it from the beginning. I only had to talk to her once for her to come up with the perfect ceremony script. It honestly was like she was reading my mind and she knew exactly what I wanted. On the day of my big day I was so nervous and Arwen just told me to relax and take a deep breath and it really made me calm down. My husband and I had rehearsed it but for some reason we managed to put our rings on the wrong hand and she was very great about it when I got a little embarrassed and instead of it being awkward she helped to make it kind of funny and no big deal at all. If I could do it all over I wouldn't change a thing especially Arwen the kind, intelligent and professional person she is.

Arwen Freer is an exceptional officiant and an even more amazing person. My partner and I first met her at Hemming Plaza where she volunteered her services for couples of the same sex, who needed an officiant (the courthouse put a halt to all wedding ceremonies). Arwen's ceremony script was beautiful. She handled everything on the spot, with a calm demeanor that made it all seem effortless. When we wanted to renew our vows for family and friends, she was immediately receptive. She worked with our additions to the ceremony script and had some lovely ideas that would fit into our sunrise beach wedding. When the temperature dropped and we had to move the ceremony onto a deck, with heaters, Arwen did not flinch. She was very positive and we had complete confidence in her expertise and intuition. The ceremony was beautiful. She was able to hold a microphone and her script, like a pro. She's a rock star! This is an officiant I would recommend to any couple - so very thoughtful! Arwen, Emmie and I are so very grateful you officiated our very special marriage.

Arwen was exceptional! From the start she was professional yet very considerate and impressive! She did everything she said she would and when she said she would! She knew a lot and offered great suggestions, and she followed exactly what we wanted. She walked me through every step and on our special day she was there on time and so very respectful and helpful! We were so pleased with her work! We plan to have a bigger wedding in a year or so and hope that Arwen will renew our vows then!

How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a newlywed myself, I understand just how difficult it can be to create a ceremony that really speaks to your own unique beliefs, without ruffling the feathers of the varied assortment of guests who will be attending. I also know how frustrating it can be to want to honor your faith, without using the same script as every other couple you know. Whether you're looking for a very traditional ceremony, or need someone with tasteful creativity to spice up your vows, I'm here to help you design a service that speaks to your heart on your special day. I also love a bit of fun, so if you are planning a themed wedding, I would be delighted to dress the part and play along.
What types of customers have you worked with?
While most of the bookings I've had so far are traditional Christian weddings, I'm not limited to them. I can perform many types of ceremonies, such as hand fasting, oathing stones, collaring, honey, red-yarn, bread&salt, blanket, wine, truce bell etc. I love to learn about different kinds of ceremonies, so I'm always adding to my knowledge. If you have a type of ceremony I havent heard of, wonderful! I will learn all I can and provide a polished ceremony to meet your needs.
