FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We create working drawings or 3D model images of your building idea or sketch. We do not create construction drawings for permit. We do not seal drawings for permit. We take your idea and create a set of drawings with plan views, elevations, sections and 3D views that you can present to an architect or engineer. We do a lot of the drafting work at a lesser cost and save you money that way. Those professionals can turn our drawings into permit drawings or we can work with them to turn them into permit drawings also. Our fees depend on the scope of work such as type (CAD drafting or BIM modeling), size of project, difficulty level (Revit level of detail), and many other factors. Each project is uniquely priced to your scope of work. If you are an architectural or engineer firm and need assistance with redlines or additional cad drafting or Revit modeling work, we can setup an hourly fee based on your project scope. If you are local and have a software license and extra workstation, we can go to your office. Otherwise we can work remotely. I will charge a consultation fee of $150 to meet in person and go over your project. I can help you sketch your idea. The initial fee will be discounted of overall project cost if we take the job. Contacting as a "lead" means you agree to initial consultation. We charge 50% of project fees up front (down payment) and the remaining 50% when completed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After meeting and in order to give you a quote, we need the following: Customer needs to inform LBD Services how much buildable space they have on their site and the estimated size of their project. Customer needs to provide as much information on desired project: such as description and dimension of building (space, rooms, size) or hand sketch of structure you want drawn with space dimensions. Customer is solely responsible to notify LBD Services of site information such as setbacks and maximum buildable space area on their site. The working process is the following. 1- Meeting with potential client. Go over scope of work and help you develop a conceptual hand sketch if necessary. 2-From customer's sketches (with dimensions), LBD Services will provide client a preliminary set of floor plan, 3D views and elevations for client's review and approval. Any big changes from initial sketch design will incur and additional hour fee since a change in plan layout affects all drawings. 3-After approval, LBD Services continues and finalizes drawings: floor plans, elevations, roof plans, building sections. 4-LBD Services will deliver electronic format PDF drawings to client on 24X36 sheet size paper.
