FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do not upcharge for materials. Many pros will add a percentage on top of the material cost that they pass on to the customer. I charge you what I paid to acquire said material. That being said, I do charge for my time to get said materials, assuming it is not provided by the owner. I do not charge for travel time to the job site, assuming it is under an hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to learn more about the job and what your vision and goals are before any work is started. It is important to be on the same page before hand to avoid future problems and pitfalls. I also try to be transparent and honest with what I am doing and how things are going. I am also more than willing to explain the rough process before hand and can provide photos of the steps throughout should you not be present at the site.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors degree from Indiana University with a major in Management and Information Systems. As far as "handyman" work, my experience and training comes from a lifetime of building and breaking things. Taking things apart and putting them back together. I've always been a DIYer and love getting my hands (and arms, and legs, and face, and clothes) dirty.
