I am someone who specializes in teaching. So often a guitar teacher will be a performing musician and teaching is just something done on the side for extra income. For me, teaching is the thing! I have my full focus on making you a better guitarist. Another unique trait of mine: I teach the instrument by teaching specific songs, of your choosing. So many teachers pour so much effort into theory for weeks or months on end, and after all of that, you still don't know how to play any real music. I've heard this horror story over and over. The reality is that music theory will naturally force its way into the lessons but only when you understand enough to ask specific questions. A third quality I possess is that, if you prefer, I come to your location. I have found this to be a pretty rare service. I also have guitars that I lend out when a person is unsure about making a 'full-on' commitment, so that, after four lessons, a more sure decision can be reached. I most like seeing my students put their effort into playing and overcome things that once hindered them. I am privileged to see this on a regular basis!
