Introduction

I offer private 1 on 1 instruction for all levels and stylistic expressions of the guitar. I also offer beginning to intermediate instruction in electric bass,piano and ukulele. Lessons are also available for general music theory, music composition, electronic music and recording. To me, music is a necessary practice in building and empowering community and individual expression. I have had more than 15 years experience being an music teacher. I cater my lessons to a student's individual learning style and music interests. As a professional musician, I have played with many luminary Bay Area artists and organizations such as Grammy winner Fantastic Negrito, the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and the San Francisco Philharmonic Orchestra. Lessons are for ages 8 and above. Please feel free to communicate to me any special needs and interest before the first lesson. I look forward to helping you on your journey!

Been taking lesson with Josh and it’s been awesome. I’ve made great progress in a short amount of time. He’s a great teacher, caters to your music taste, and gives great material to take home and practice that isn’t too overwhelming. Highly recommend.

My daughter has been taking virtual lessons the past year and she loves it! She’s always excited to attend piano lessons and Josh keeps her engaged and interested by letting her learn some of her fav songs along with the curriculum. Knowledgeable and kind. When needed, rescheduling goes very smooth. Virtual lessons have been so convenient and enjoyable for us. My kids are looking forward to taking guitar lessons with Josh when they get a bit older

Best guitar teacher and best guitar player in the world!! Josh is skilled, professional and teaches guitar with intent and the utmost care. Any question you may have about guitar and/or music, this guy will definitely have an answer for. The best part about learning with Josh is that he’ll tailor fit your lesson to your skill level and musical tastes. I always show up to my lesson and Josh always has something prepared for us to work on. Not many teachers will do that for you! I’ve been learning with this guy for over 10 years now and he’s helped me connect so many pieces to my musical puzzle and I’ve only seen amazing results since. Definitely go see Josh for your guitar lessons!
