Anthony did a beautiful job of restoring the original hardwood floors throughout our family's beloved home. He was professional and his expertise really brought the floors back to their original glow. The new owners were very pleased with the finished floors, as were we. I was hesitant about having my hardwood floors refinished. I really did not want to spend the money. I spoke to Anthony from Emerald Floors and he seemed to have many years of experience. Once I realized the total cost for the job, it just didn’t make sense not to do them. Anthony came in lower than all other bids, was there every day on time, had the proper equipment, and did an exceptional job. I kept thinking to myself, I wish I had more floors for him to do. My floors are beautiful, and I am so happy I had them done. What a difference. I highly recommend Anthony, Emerald Floors. Check out my before and after photos.

I hired Anthony based on the reviews presented on Thumbtack, and the images that were provided. I was specifically impressed with his 30-year experience of working with existing older floors and restoring them. Our bamboo floors were about 20 years old, so still in good shape, but needed some buffing and a new coat of sealant. Anthony was very quick to respond when initial contact was made and provided a brief description of recommendations for our project. Due to our schedule and needs, and where the house was empty and accessible to do the floors, I agreed to the fees and the day he would do the work—the day after Christmas no less! When I went back to the house to check on the floors a few days later, I was disappointed to see that there were embedded rocks and bits of materials in some places, and where pooling of the sealant showed in other areas. He also sealed our door access to the crawl space in a closet, which really surprised me. We had to force it open, resulting in breaking off the handle to the door and warping the wood a bit to get access to the crawl space. Anthony did come back to correct some of the issues, and we are satisfied with the final results. It would have been nice if he acknowledged the parts that he made mistakes on, rather than gaslighting me and saying I was "getting a good deal." I am not the first and only client, who is looking for competitive bids, rather than throwing my money away without close inspection (otherwise, I would have gotten new floors)... but instead, Anthony ignored the parts he made mistakes on, and dismissed aspects of what he should have paid attention to. Would I recommend him to another? No. Would I say not to hire him? No. What I would say is, get everything in writing. Understand what his process is and what his guarantee is, and his willingness to fix anything that he did, vs what is the owner's responsibility. He knows his work and the industry, this is true. But, his willingness to see his own blindspots is where I have issue. As a self-employeed person myself for 23 years, I can spot others who forget the goal of providing service is #1 you love the work you do #2 the quality of your work shows and is reflected in referrals #3 you own your own mistakes and make amends to correct them, without affecting your client's questions. If you know you made the mistake, OWN IT and FIX IT.

Anthony came out on time and went striaght to work. He did exactly what he said he was going to do was respectful and nice and got the job done very quick. I dont know when the floors had ever been sand and polish before when he was done they looked brand new. Thank you Anthony.
