Hi, After 10 years and over 80 projects, I am inspired by a quote from Rumi: "May the beauty that you love, be what you do." I respond to inquiries by offering a free in-person consultation. I take photos of everything, inspect valves and irrigation, make suggestions, and offer design ideas. If you like my ideas, I send images of plants I feel are best to consider, and if we decide to move forward, I create a detailed estimate. If needed, I include costs for installing additional or new valves, drip lines, repairing sprinkler head, etc. I give definition to what is thriving in your garden, and incorporate beautiful drought tolerant and low water plants and shrubs, trees, boulders, river rocks, containers, fountains, etc. Since COVID I have tried to create sanctuary gardens that become more than an occasional place to sit, or another property obligation to maintain. I design to create gardens that one can see and appreciate while inside, and outside, are more comfortable and accessible spaces to love and appreciate the stunning nature in our own backyard! I hired Dirt Beauty for a commercial roof deck project in Hollywood. Patricia is extremely professional and basically took over the design aspect also. Final result was an extremely beautiful design and project. She coordinated her crews, came in and got it done under budget and beat the schedule. Amazing. I am looking forward to the next project.

We interviewed several landscape designers and loved the vision Patricia had for our space during her initial visit. She had so many great suggestions and ideas which were the perfect complements to our initial concept. She even went out to a rock quarry and picked out an amazing and perfectly shaped stone for the entrance making a great initial impression on our guests. She’s very passionate about what she does and took the time to educate us along the way to make sure we were prepared to take care of our plants for the long haul. Patricia is awesome!

I'm glad Patricia responded to my query on Thumbtack regarding a designer/gardener who could refresh my patio container full of overgrown succulents, agaves, and aloe that I'd not trimmed for 18 months. Patricia transformed my lush yet overgrown garden. She trimmed back four large plants to make them elegant once again, she completely redesigned intricate succulent arrangements in my three smaller parts. She was very willing to hear what I preferred in he garden but I preferred to give her a free hand. I'm very happy to be sitting in my garden admiring her work this evening.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I create a detailed budget based on labor, plants and my design fee. I don't work by the hour and neither do my guys. I bid the project based on how long it will take me to shop, install and design. I never go over budget because if there is something we decide to do after the estimate is done, you will sign off on everything, big or small. No surprises. Thanks.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1) Give a free estimate by doing a walk thru, info/garden history/discuss ideas. 2) Send photos of garden as is, with suggestions for plants or other elements and prices. 3) If necessary prep any area of the property before planting. 4) Plant first phase of design. 5) Fill in more plants and change anything that is not working for the client and myself. 6). Come back in two weeks free of charge to see everything and tweak if necessary.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been landscaping for ten years, initially creating succulent arrangements for retail. I have an eye for beauty and I know how to stage gardens. I have a strong work ethic, and I deliver on budget, and on time. I show up open minded, but prepared.
