FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I’ve always been passionate about storytelling, and photography and videography felt like the perfect mediums to bring stories to life. I started as a photographer over a decade ago, working on small projects like family portraits and events. My first wedding shoot came from a friend who trusted me to capture their big day, and it was such an incredible experience that I knew this was what I wanted to focus on. Over time, I honed my skills, invested in professional equipment, and built a team that shares my vision for capturing timeless moments. Today, I own AP Wedding Media, where we specialize in creating stunning, emotional memories for couples. It’s been a journey of hard work and passion, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One of my favorite recent projects was a wedding we covered at a beautiful vineyard in Napa Valley. The couple wanted a mix of cinematic videography and documentary-style photography to capture their big day, focusing on natural moments and emotions. From the pre-wedding consultation to the final delivery, the project took about six weeks. This included planning, shooting the event, and editing the photos and video. It was incredibly rewarding to see their reactions when they received their wedding film and album—it reminded me why I love doing what I do!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When looking to hire a photographer or videographer for your event, especially a wedding, it’s crucial to choose someone whose style resonates with you. My advice is to carefully review a provider’s portfolio to ensure their work aligns with the aesthetic and mood you’re hoping to capture. Don’t hesitate to ask for references and feedback from past clients, as well as details on their approach to handling the event. Communication is key, so make sure you’re comfortable with them and that they understand your vision. Lastly, trust experience—look for someone who has a solid track record in the industry and who can deliver consistent, high-quality results under pressure.
