A wonderful 5 stars. Kristen tutored my 7 year old son in reading and writing during the summer. I thought I would quote Kristen from a few of the updates she emailed us as I feel this aptly captures Kristen’s dedication, quality and professionalism as a tutor:

Learning to write is a procedural practice, meaning we wear it into our brains like a groove in a record. The improvement will happen over time. By the end of the week James could read his own writing back to me. At the beginning of the week, he couldn’t. Also he proposed his own writing assignment in lesson three. That self-challenging initiative is a good sign. That means he understands how to utilize tutoring, how to create an idea out of nothing, and how organize his thoughts around that idea. He dictated the piece and then I recited his dictation and assisted with spelling of larger words as he wrote. He clearly wanted to communicate his thoughts on soccer in writing…” My son ended the summer with a book about dinosaurs that he wrote and illustrated with Kristen facilitating the process and discovered a confidence and enthusiasm for reading and writing. Kyle V. is a fantastic English tutor. He is both charming and well spoken. Kyle gave his time to teach immediately upon arrival, and engages my son (Age 9) instantly. Connects well, and able to establish many common areas to help my son communicate with him.
Kyle is able to balance areas of work my child needs to improve by looking his school work and writing/talking about things that interests my son! I feel that my son is able to learn from Kyle on his first lesson. With school projects at home, my son speaks up more about certain topic areas as well, as we were always looking for ways to motivate our son!
Kyle is constructive and knowledgable in his comments and always shows an enthusiasm to teaching my son. He always arrives on time, which we really appreciate. I highly recommend Kyle.
