FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We periodically offer promotions and discounts. It’s best to contact us directly to inquire about any current offers that may apply to your project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We begin by discussing your project’s scope, objectives, and any specific requirements you may have. This helps us understand your vision and assess how we can best assist you.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In California, obtaining a roofing contractor license involves meeting specific experience and education requirements set by the Contractors State License Board (CSLB). Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of four years of journey-level experience in the roofing trade, which can be supplemented with formal education. For instance, an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in building or construction management from an accredited institution can account for 1 to 1.5 years of the required experience. While formal education is not mandatory, it can significantly enhance one’s qualifications and potentially reduce the required work experience. Additionally, completing an accredited apprenticeship program or obtaining a bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as construction technology or management can further satisfy experience requirements. Beyond formal education, hands-on experience is crucial in this field. Many professionals, including myself, started as apprentices, learning directly under seasoned contractors. This practical training is invaluable, providing insights into the nuances of roofing and masonry work that are essential for delivering quality craftsmanship. For those considering a career in this industry, combining formal education with extensive hands-on experience is highly recommended. This approach not only meets licensing requirements but also equips individuals with the comprehensive skills needed to excel in the field.
