Ben’s ability to cater the lessons to your personal goals, is unmatched. I went to my first lesson never having picked up a bass guitar, and not having touched an instrument since 2005 (the trombone). I am interested in learning bass to play funk, Bachata (genre of music from the Dominican Republic), and simple worship music. In the first day alone I learned the bassline to Flashlight by Parliament and the fundamentals of a Bachata bass rhythm. The progression from Zero to Playing is very short, but of course is based on the student’s musical background. I highly encourage anyone seeking lessons to take a first lesson with Ben, to see how he can help you reach your goals. This review has been written after my 5th, one hour lesson.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Discounts Available! Packages of 4 and 8 lessons. Advance deposit of 50% of one lesson required for all bookings.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 25 years of real “on the job” training. That means out in the world playing and performing. I average around 150-200 shows a year between my various projects. Sometimes 6 gigs a week.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started playing guitar at age 12, and just learned by ear, listening to recordings and playing with friends. Was self taught for 10 years before studying formally and getting my degree in jazz studies
