Gareth came in an laid our lvp planks in our guest bedroom and bathroom. Gareth let me know I would need to take the carpet, carpet pad, and carpet tacks out because of time constraints on his end due to my last minute need for flooring. He also let me know he could remove the baseboards for an extra fee and I said I would take care of it. As I was taking out the carpet, pad, and tacks, I unfortunately forgot about the baseboards. So, when Gareth arrived he thought leaving the baseboards on was intentional (customer preferences) and starting laying the planks. After the project, we noticed space between the planks and the baseboards and when we removed the baseboards to change them we saw it was larger than normal. I contacted him because of the space and he told me that he thought we were putting quarter rounds in the leftover space since the baseboards weren't removed originally. Gareth had other projects so sadly he couldn't come and fix the space, so we had to hire someone else to fill in the extra space and get creative. He understood the miscommunication on both ends so he provided us a partial refund to help cover the cost. I appreciated the post communication with Gareth; I was able to see where I could have communicated better (verbiage regarding "take care of it" vs "remove") and he saw what he could add in conversation to ensure there is no miscommunication on subjects like baseboards for future clients.

Gareth is awesome! We have a rental unit that needed flooring replaced in two small BRs in preparation for a quick turnaround from one tenant to another. We read his reviews, how people raved about him and his team, and sent him a message on a Sunday evening; imagine our surprise when we heard from him within a few minutes! He promised to contact us Monday morning to setup a consult, and did just that. With an appointment set for Tuesday, he met us with samples based on photos we provided, and offered recommendations on the materials and installation; we had detailed written estimates an hour later. Gareth started the job on Wednesday (he actually worked into the evening to make sure his team was setup for the following day), and the job was finished on Thursday; he kept us posted through the entire project and was extremely responsive. The overall project included the flooring (floating subfloor, installing LVP, and installing/painting baseboard), replacing a ceiling fan, and replacing a kitchen outlet. We would definitely recommend Gareth and use him again for future projects!

We needed to lay LVP in our office, which had extremely uneven floors. Gareth responded to my inquiry within minutes, and set up a time to give us a quote. He came as promised and reviewed the issues, clearly explaining his plan for leveling and installing the flooring. He later sent a very reasonable estimate and we were happy to move forward. He completed the work in no time at all, and now we have a beautiful (and level) floor. He’s polite and professional, and should more projects arise, we will be calling him again!

Task: Install vinyl plank flooring over concrete in a small bedroom (house was built in the 60s). Gareth was on time, on budget, personable and efficient. He had all the necessary tools, unlike other handymen I have hired (“Do you have a jigsaw?”). Gareth initially recommended a vapor layer but he was unhappy with the way it crinkled underfoot so he removed it with my permission. He sometimes sings along with recordings of Perry Como and Frank Sinatra, which I found amusing. His estimate was his invoiced amount, so there were no surprise expenses, and he worked a Saturday when I ran out of planking and had to get more.
