Hello- My name is Michael Dashefsky I have worked as a performing arts professional for over 8+ years. My Training: I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre Performance from California State University Fullerton. My Professional Experience: I have performed as a vocalist and piano player for : Disney, Universal, Holland America Cruise Line and Princess Cruise Lines. I also sang on a Broadway Style Christmas National Tour and also performed in several regional theatre productions in Southern California. I have also worked in Chicago as an assistant music supervisor for the Beatles and Shakespeare production of As You Like it where I played piano, sang, music directed and played a character in the show. I am a member of the Actors Equity Association. We can come up with an action plan to work on your current strengths and areas for improvement. All ages and all skill sets welcome. Why study with me? I am directly working in the performing arts industry and I am not just a teacher who solely focuses on teaching students. I am an active performer myself and I bring my experience as a professional in the industry to each student I work with to teach them industry specific techniques. Lets make some music!

Just completed my first lesson with Mike and I am happy to say I will be continuing lessons with him. Plenty of learning in a 30-minute time period as well as plenty of things to practice outside of lessons. The price was worth the experience!

I’ve never had any training in singing & little experience singing in front of people. This was my first experience with lessons. I had a song prepared to sing at the beginning of the lesson so Michael could evaluate my voice. After 30 minutes of exercises we revisited my song & I was able to sing it in a higher key with better clarity. Amazing! He got so much out of me in such little time! I’m very excited about continuing to work with Michael. He’s fun & personable & really good at reading his students. He’s so positive & supportive it really helped calm my “stage fright”. If you’re looking for effective coaching with empathy and a joy for teaching, book Michael immediately.

I recently had my first lesson with Mike and was blown away by how great it was. First, we ran through several drills, which taught me how to breathe and warm up my vocal cords. Once we got to singing an actual song, I was already more confident and could sing much smoother. He was also very prepared for the session, creating a Zoom link and recording our lesson, which he sent me afterward. Now I can sing along with the recorded lesson as I eagerly await my next class!

I’m so lucky to get to work with Michael! I’ve been working with him for about a year now and I’ve felt so much of a transformation in my voice. I also feel so much more confident after each time I do a lesson with him. He is extremely knowledgeable and fun as well. He has added so much value to my life.
