FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My base rate for San Diego is $330 and $550 for L.A. It would be difficult to make a living if I only did gigs at these rates, though, so my ideal rate for a local (to me) solo performance range from $600 to $1,500. Package deals are available with my teammate, Jason, who is a masterful curator of sound and space, with more than 35 years experience touring professionally and running the highest caliber sound and lighting for festivals and other major events with exceptional skill. Package deals are also available with me and a small ensemble such as a bassist and percussionist, my duo project with Jeff Jacobs - also listed here on Thumbtack, and/or a full band.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'm always excited to connect with a new client! Beginning the process here with a message is a great start. Then we can schedule a short phone call so I can hear your vision and hopes for you event! After we establish an agreement, I'll send a contract, and we can continue to be in dialogue all the way up to the event! I require half the amount of the agreed upon rate to reserve the date and time, and then the full amount is due upon the date of the event.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied vocal technique professionally for many years in college and with my current vocal coach. I've been apart of various programs for songwriting, recording, and performing as well as being a life-long student of music and performance, studying other artists and practicing proficiency with devotion. I believe my greatest and most proficient learning is from living this music calling on the road in in a broad variety of contexts and venues, touring all over the United States and the United Kingdom and parts of Canada and Australia. I've performed my entire life from small theaters to Red Rocks amphitheater in Morrison, CO; for humanitarian non-profits, sharing the stage with Nobel peace prize laureates; for corporations and elaborate galas, for students and for women's and homeless shelters. I've had tough crowds and endearingly engaged crowds and that'll teach.
