I originally sought help with my dog because he had fear of people and dogs and was reactive. What I have since learned after group sessions is that I am the one who needed true work learning to help him. The way that I react and respond to other dogs and people has a profound effect on my 11 year old dog. Vicki has given me practical tools and insight working with our specific situation. I am surprised that in a group situation, I have been giving so much one-on-one attention. At first my dog could not even being close proximity to other dogs or the dog fence surrounding the dog yard at the park. Now he can sit or lay calmly his dogs are within close proximity. This has provided me with much needed relief and has helped my dog not be so anxious. I continue to work on my skills and my dog has made a dramatic improvement. I plan to continue another group session round as soon as possible. This is my Jas smiling after class!

I took a one time session with One with your Dog training to fine tune my dog’s leash aggression training. Vicky was flexible when scheduling, prompt to respond & showed up on time. I already appreciated that. We had a phone conversation earlier so I can convey exactly what I’ve been working on and what I needed from her, and she listened carefully & did not ‘bulked me’ into a group. She understood I needed something very individual for to my dog. I appreciated that. While at the session, she observed carefully & commented me on things I’ve already done well with my dog. She showed me practical approaches in real time (as we met in front on our local dog park) on how to handle my dog in specific situations as other dogs approached. I saw my dog respond well in a few tries, and since we’ve kept it up, our walks are much more calm as we pass by other dogs (especially ones his size or bigger, and he’s a 90lb Rotti mix). Additionally, she addressed the ‘rushing to the door in attack mode’ issue I’ve had with my dog at home when people come into the house. Vickie was great to walk me through some steps & now that I’ve been implementing them (we had company come over the weekend), I know we are on our way to conquer this issue as well. Big thank you to Vicky for this. I recommend 10/10!!!
