Dr. Leilani Gjellstad plays flute and piano professionally in classical chamber ensembles and indie rock bands. Mitchell Fedie has been a songwriter and professional musician for over two decades singing lead as well as playing guitar, bass, and drums for rock bands in a range of styles (soul, rock, folktronica). They specialize in tailoring lessons to help music-lovers upgrade their skills in a fun, intuitive way that best suits that person’s natural strengths. Music lessons and classes are held at their Oceanside studio. Half hour lessons are $30. One hour lessons are $50. Inquire to learn about other classes and packages.

We offer a number of packages that allow a student to combine learning different instruments or get a discount for signing up with a buddy.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our first lesson will assess the student's current knowledge, strengths, and challenges. We will set music goals and lay out a plan for incorporating musical growth and skill development into the learner's everyday life. It is important to ensure that practice and performance goals are achievable and rewarding. Picking fun songs that excites the learner is a must!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Leilani and Mitch have performed in professional music groups for decades. Leilani has a bachelor's degree in music and psychology as well as a Masters and Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Developmental Psychology. Mitch is ProTools certified and in the process of completing an Audio Engineering degree program.
