Introduction
Chef Rico is the Executive Chef and Owner of Platinum & Gold Catering. A native of Oakland, California, Rico found his calling to the culinary world in his youth. Raised by his two grandmothers, he learned at an early age that food and hospitality were the way to people's hearts. With one grandmother a Chinese immigrant and the other a Southern housekeeper, she embraced both worlds by ultimately fusing the two. Taking recipes from both grandmothers, he found hisself mixing his favorites into delightful dishes for her family and friends. In 2011, Chef Rico decided to embark on a culinary adventure by offering his dishes for sale from his home. ​ In 2013 he was asked to cater for one of San Francisco’s Union advisers and he nervously and carefully placed a brunch out in honor of his birthday. After that brunch, Chef quickly found hisself in full blown catering mode and created Elle B Events. Elle B Events client list boasted names such as Deloitte & Touché, Reed Smith and a handful of celebrity clients as well. ​ In mid-2015, Chef Rico returned to one of his favorite culinary scenes, New Orleans. A place where he visited often and where he decided to return to his roots of Southern/Cajun Cuisine with an Asian twist. In 2017, Platinum & Gold Catering was born. Chef has had several residencies at Bay Area wineries such as Rosenblum Cellars and Dashe Cellars, a few popular lounges and has had much success with his popular pop up events throughout the Bay. Platinum & Gold Catering is now one of the most sought after catering companies in the Bay Area.

Platinum and gold catering was on time a plus. Dressed very well ready to serve my guess of 125 people. The food came hot and fresh. It was very delicious l will definitely use them again and refer to all my friends. Thanks again for a outstanding job

We appreciated the willingness to work with us last minute, they deliver & the cost. However, Theres areas that could be improved - the food was over half an hour late. Things happen, we understand but we would've appreciated if someone reached out to let us know something came up, running late, or if it was traffic, or whatever the reason was for the delay. & our biggest issue is we were told rotisserie chicken wouldn't be a problem (or grilled as our backup option) but when the chicken arrived it was baked legs & thighs. Again, lack of communication. We would be willing to hire this caterer again in the future, if these issues were not a problem again.

My guest could not stop telling me how good the chicken was after my wedding. They loved the taste and how tender it was! The portions was excellent, my guest were able to take food home! Although there were concerns during the process Felicia delivered and my guests’ bellies were happy and that is all that mattered to me! I have already recommended her to a friend that I getting married in October and I would definitely use her again!
