Introduction

I am able to teach local, phone and , zoom , Skype call, FaceTime on iPad for music instruction. I teach instrumental music instruction for school aged children and adults at all levels and music ability. I have served as a flute audition coach at a local music camp. I taught middle school band program that included a jazz band and competed in festivals. I have taught advanced small group flute choirs and private instruction I can do my part to help your child succeed in music. I currently teach piano, guitar, snd flute and can assist with other wind instruments. I was trained at Sacramento State to be a music teacher with extensive music classroom instruction from elementary to high school music programs. I prefer the small group and individual setting. I also taught at music camp and lead a flute choir in Novato. I was a resident flutist at local churches and played many styles of music. I performed flute at the theatres over the years as a profession.

Liz has worked wonders with our 10 year old son and his guitar lessons. He loves guitar now and looks forward to each lesson and practicing in between. Liz makes learning fun and easy. She is also flexible with changing schedules and conveniently comes to our home so we don't have to travel. We are very happy we found her on a Thumbtack!

Liz is an amazing music teacher and person. I started taking lessons with her when I started flute in the 5th grade and kept taking lessons wih her through the end of high school. The only reason I stopped was because I moved away to college. Liz is a true musician. She knows music and she knows how to teach. I was always impressed wih Liz's ability to make very complex music reachable. What I love so much about Liz is that she makes music personal. She asked what I was interested in and made sure that I got to learn the type of flute because that is what I was interested in. This is in contrast to some other music teachers I had when I played other instruments earlier in my life. I remember sometimes I would be tired from school or sports practice earlier, or maybe I had had a rough day, and would not want to go to my lesson. Of course I would go and not once did I regret it. I ALWAYS left lessons happy. Liz made music and lessons fun. She is truly invested in her students. She builds relationships with them. I graduated from college and a teacher myself now and I still talk to Liz to catch up because we are more than just student-teacher we are friends. I still think of Liz when I hear Christmas music or Flight of the Bumblebee.

Playing guitar has always been a dream of mine and liz helped me make that dream come true. Through her weekly guitar lessons I learned the chords and strumming patters to play all kinds of songs. I'm Learning one right now to play for a surprise birthday party I'm throwing for My husband. He is definitely going to. Be surprised when he hears how well I play. Thanks liz for helping me get started on mybucket list with very enjoyable lessons guitar lessons.

My daughter was having difficulty with piano lessons and decided to try the flute in sixth grade instead. Ms. Vargas was recommended to us and fulfilled all our expectations. She helped my daughter get over her conviction that she was unable to read music and inspired her to continue with her flute lessons until she graduated from high school. She made sure all her students had the traditional recitals to polish their work, but also made the time for those interested to play at coffee houses and other venues at Christmas time. She supported them in school competitions and customized her teaching to the students interests as well as needs. Although my daughter is now 24, she still plays her flute at times and has added the guitar.

Liz is a wonderful flute Teacher to our 10 year-old daughter. Our daughter just started playing a few months ago and we have been so impressed with her comprehension, sustained interest, enthusiasm and playing ability, resulting from Liz's great approach, curriculum and instruction. In addition to nice music, we often also hear shared laughter during her lessons with our daughter... which we love. Liz has a very long and impressive career teaching music and has a very special way with kids. We are so thankful to have found her and would highly recommend her!

Earned my teaching credential in instrumental music in the classroom K-12. My training was extensive for almost 2 years from elementary to high school music teacher training. Worked with students closely I a high school guitar classroom.
