- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
This is what we do: Pre-Class Preparation 1. Review student's level and goals: Familiarize yourself with the student's current level, strengths, weaknesses, and learning objectives. 2. Prepare lesson materials: Choose relevant textbooks, worksheets, audio/video resources, and online tools to support your lesson plan. 3. Set clear objectives: Define what you want to achieve in the class, e.g., grammar, vocabulary, conversation, or exam preparation. During the Class 1. Welcome and warm-up: Start with a friendly greeting, ask about the student's week, and do a quick warm-up activity to get them speaking. 2. Grammar and vocabulary: Present new grammar rules, vocabulary, or phrases, using clear explanations, examples, and visual aids. 3. Practice and exercises: Provide opportunities for students to practice what they've learned through conversations, role-plays, fill-in-the-blank exercises, or quizzes. 4. Feedback and correction: Offer constructive feedback, correct errors, and encourage self-correction. 5. Cultural insights and discussions: Incorporate cultural topics, discussions, or debates to promote language use in context. Post-Class Activities 1. Homework and assignments: Provide homework or assignments to reinforce learning, such as writing exercises, listening comprehension, or reading tasks. 2. Feedback and progress tracking: Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and adjust your teaching approach as needed. 3. Communication with parents/guardians*: Keep parents/guardians informed about their child's progress, especially if you're tutoring minors.

As a Spanish tutor and founder of Straight from Spain Academy, I hold the following education and training that relates to my work: - Degree in Art History and Etymology: My undergraduate degree in Art History and Etymology has provided me with a deep understanding of the cultural and historical context of the Spanish language. - Studies in Latin: My studies in Latin have given me a strong foundation in the grammar and vocabulary of Romance languages, including Spanish. - English Language Proficiency: I hold a C2 level certification in English from EF College, demonstrating my proficiency in the English language and ability to communicate effectively with students from diverse linguistic backgrounds. - Business English: My training in Business English has equipped me with the skills to understand and communicate complex business concepts, making me an effective tutor for professionals and business owners.
