Hired on Thumbtack

Hired on Thumbtack

I hired Virtual AV to replace the existing HDMI cables running through the wall for my new 4K TV. A handyman I had hired earlier in the week was unable to remove the wiring, so I needed an expert. I submitted my Thumbtack request on a Friday afternoon, and Christopher arrived at my home within the hour. After a thorough investigation, he discovered that the old cables were trapped between a support beam and new baseboards that were installed during a recent flooring project. They were completely stuck — and, unfortunately, also blocking the pass-through for the new cables. He explained my options: drilling through the support beam (which my condo HOA would not allow) or removing my brand-new baseboards. After some thought, I decided I’d instead switch from cable to streaming — something I had already been considering — which would avoid the need for new wiring. Despite the issue being out of his control, Christopher was apologetic and offered a discount on his fee. Christopher was hardworking, friendly, and professional throughout the entire process. Although the end result wasn’t what I expected, I’m still happy with the outcome and would recommend him to anyone needing help with an A/V project, big or small.

Christopher was terrific! He installed our new TV above the fireplace in our master bedroom. Since there had not been a TV there previously, he had some additional wiring to do. He was on time and worked around my work schedule, which was great. Very pleasant to work with and absolutely knew his stuff!

Had a tv installed on a shared wall. Was concerned about issues with what was behind the wall, gas lines, water lines etc. Christopher gave a competitive bid for the work. Showed up on time and completed the work efficiently. This is his field of work, he's not moonlighting as a waiter or a something else, this is his profession. You can trust him to complete the work to your satisfaction. A lot of variables exist, but hiring a professional helps eliminate surprises. Have the mount ready, have your wires ready and you will be a happy customer.

Chris was communicative and comprehensive in terminating new Ethernet lines through the house, and setting up the network rack in my utility room. Was a pretty big job - close to 45 lines across 20 drop locations, a mixture of older/already installed stuff and new stuff. The two networks were merged, tested, and arranged sensibly.
